The President promulgated "the north Korean law on sex equality" on July 30, Juche 35 (1946).

The law prescribes that the women have the same rights as the men in all fabrics of social life including political, labor, educational and cultural life, marriage and family life and can participate in those activities freely.

Present at the meeting were Choe Ryong Hae, Yang Hyong Sop and Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the C.C., the Democratic Women's Union of Korea, women officials of the ministries and national institutions and women officials, heroes, persons who had the honor of being received by the great leaders and working people in Pyongyang.

A report was made by Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

He said the law, which the President personally wrote and promulgated, is a Juche-based programme for liberating women and a militant programme of the women's movement without an equal in the world.

The promulgation of the law helped the Korean women to dynamically push one of the two wheels of the revolutionary chariot with the equal rights with the men as proud mistresses of the society, the reporter said, and continued:

The President granted the Korean women the true rights to live through the promulgation of the law and saw to it that the social emancipation of women was successfully realized.

The course of accomplishing the Juche cause of emancipation of the women is associated with the undying feats of Kang Pan Sok, outstanding leader of the Korean women's movement, and anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.

Leader Kim Jong Il firmly defended and glorified the President's idea on settling the issue of the women and his leadership exploits and trained the Korean women as the true women revolutionaries in the Songun era.

The history of love and trust the great leaders showed in training the women to be powerful forces is being carried forward generation after generation under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

There are many countries and nations in the world but there are no such blessed women who have fully enjoyed a worthy life for generations with rights and dignity as proud mistresses of the country as the Korean women.

The reporter called upon all women to hold Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il as the eternal leaders of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people and the sun of Juche in high esteem and firmly defend and glorify forever the undying feats the great leaders who devoted themselves to independent dignity and rights and worthwhile life of the women.
