They held a meeting with the Korean religionists in the U.S. in Chicago on July 23.

The speakers said that the conclusion of a peace treaty would be the first step for achieving the peaceful reunification of Korea.

Noting that the U.S. has conducted military exercises in south Korea under various codenames such as "beheading operation", they called on all Koreans not to take a fence-sitting approach towards the tense situation on the Korean peninsula.

Co-existence of the two systems in the south and the north of Korea is the way of achieving peaceful renunciation, they added.

They signed a written petition urging the U.S. authorities to come out for the conclusion of the peace accord.
