July Issue of Magazine of International Kothongryon Released

Pyongyang, August 1 (KCNA) -- The International United Confederation of Koreans (International Kothongryon) released the July issue of its monthly magazine Thongil. The magazine highlights the revolutionary activities of supreme leader Kim Jong Un illustrated with his photos. It conveys news that he provided field guidance to the ballistic rocket firing drill of the Hwasong artillery units of the Strategic Force of the Korean People's Army (KPA) and the Fish Food Factory under Unit 810 of the KPA and met with the special envoy of the first secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of Cuba and his party. It specially edited an article titled "The Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum in photos" on the 63rd anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. Introducing the museum which was opened after being successfully remodeled on the 60th anniversary of the victory in the war, the magazine carried 39 photos showing the monument of the victory in the war and groups of sculptures outside the museum and its lobby, hall of heroes, exhibition halls showing the course of the war and major battles and enemy weapons and combat equipment captured by the Korean People's Army. It dealt with the stands of officials of different countries of the world opposing the THAAD deployment in south Korea, a protest statement that the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia sent to the south Korean embassy in Moscow and information analyzing the military and technical problems of THAAD and its negative impact on the regional and global peace and security. It also introduced actions of people from all walks of life in south Korea including the news that inhabitants in Songju County, North Kyongsang Province of south Korea, the place chosen as the site for THAAD deployment, staged strong protest action, pelting the puppet prime minister of south Korea with eggs. The magazine carried an article written by the section chief of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences which said that the DPRK made positive proposals including the great national conference for reunification aimed at opening dialogue between the north and the south and improving their relations, but the south Korean authorities denied the dialogue and are persisting in sanctions against the DPRK. |
