Silk Production Goes Up in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Significant achievements have been made in the DPRK's sericulture. A progress was made in the work to breed high-yield silkworms suitable to the country's climatic and soil conditions and cultivate good species of mulberry. Meanwhile, the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Silk Mill and other silk mills across the country have raised the daily production of quality silk thread twice the schedule through a mass technological innovation movement. The Pakchon Silk Mill made big strides in the efforts to improve the technology of processing silk fabrics. |
