Korean in Japan Accuses S. Korean Regime of Blocking Opening of Joint Conference for Reunification

Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- Im Thae Gwang, chairman of the Headquarters of the Koreans in Japan of the Overseas Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon) who doubles as member of the Japanese regional preparatory committee for the joint conference of political parties, organizations and individual personages of the north, the south and abroad for peace and independent reunification of the Korean peninsula, made public a statement on Aug. 8 calling for frustrating the treacherous moves to block the opening of the joint conference by concerted efforts of the nation.

The attention of all Koreans is now focused on whether or not the joint conference is held, the statement said.

The statement condemned the Park Geun Hye regime for categorically turning down the north's proposal and holding in check the activities of the south Korean public including the South Headquarters of Pomminryon.

The Headquarters of the Koreans in Japan of the Overseas Headquarters of the Pomminryon will take the lead in the nationwide struggle to frustrate the anti-reunification moves of the Park Geun Hye regime and make the joint conference a success by the concerted efforts of all Koreans in the north, the south and overseas.
