Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- In the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, President Kim Il Sung set forth the three-point line for national liberation. The three-point line served as an important guideline for the Korean people to hasten the preparations for the final decisive battle and achieve the cause of national liberation by themselves. From 1943, Japan and other fascist countries came to be on the decline rapidly. Under such situation, Kim Il Sung convened the meeting of military and political cadres of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) early in 1943 and put forth the final operation plan against Japan. The plan was aimed at accomplishing the historic cause of national liberation by means of a general offensive of the KPRA combined with a popular uprising and joint operations behind enemy lines. The President confirmed the plan as the three-point line for the national liberation. And according to the plan, the President issued an order to launch a general offensive on August 9, 1945 and achieved the historic cause of national liberation on August 15, 1945. |
