Talks between DPRK Vice FM and General Secretary of DR Congo FM Held
Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- Talks between DPRK Vice Foreign Minister Sin Hong Chol, who visited DR Congo as head of a delegation of the DPRK Foreign Ministry, and the general secretary of the DR Congo Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation took place on August 8.

Sin Hong Chol said the servicepersons and people of the DPRK are registering successes in the drive for glorifying this year as a year of victors under the uplifted banner of self-reliance and self-development, true to the line of simultaneously pushing forward economic construction and the building of nuclear force.

He referred to the principled stand of the DPRK on the present situation on the Korean Peninsula and the world and the issue of developing the bilateral ties.

The general secretary recalled that President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il rendered sincere help to DR Congo in the past, saying that President Joseph Kabila Kabange and the government of DR Congo are attaching special importance to the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

It is the firm stand of the DR Congo government to support the Korean people in their just cause of achieving the national reunification and defending the sovereignty and dignity of the country by their own efforts, he stressed.

Expressing great satisfaction over the development of the friendly relations between the two countries, he noted that DR Congo would expand bilateral economic cooperation and actively introduce the advanced technology and experience of the DPRK.

During his visit Sin separately met and had talks with the minister of Communication and Media and a vice-minister of Interior and Security of DR Congo.
