International Seminar on Volcano on Mt. Paektu Held

| Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- An international seminar on Mt. Paektu volcano had been well conducted in the Sci-Tech Complex from Aug. 9 to 11 under the co-sponsorship of the Pyongyang International Information Centre for New Technology and Economy and Mt. Paektu Geoscientific Group. Participated in the seminar were volcano and geophysics experts from the DPRK and several other countries including UK, the U.S., Canada, Germany and China. The seminar presented the achievements in the study of volcanism, geological and environmental history in the area of Mt. Paektu with the academic exchange of views on the issues of common concern. Mmeanwhile, Alastair William James Morgan, British ambassador to the DPRK, hosted a reception on Wednesday on the successful holding of the seminar. |
