Chongjin, August 13 (KCNA) -- Foreign crewmen met at Chongjin Port on Saturday with the approach of the 71st anniversary of Korea's liberation. The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in Chongjin City and paid tribute to them. Attending it were the captain and crewmen of the Togo-flagged ship YUYUAN. Speakers said that the President pledged himself in his teens not to return home unless Korea is liberated and won the great victory in the struggle for liberation of the country and the nation by waging the 20 year-long armed struggle in the cold-wind-swept dense forests of Mt. Paektu, overcoming all sorts of hardships. They noted that the President left his footprints on every range of Mt. Paektu and at every bend of the River Amnok when making long journeys for bloody battles against the Japanese imperialists. They said Marshal Kim Jong Un is glorifying forever the exploits performed by the preceding leaders for the national liberation and their Songun revolutionary leadership exploits and leading the confrontation with imperialism and the U.S. to victory. A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting. |
