The chairman of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification said when the people in the south, the north and overseas boost solidarity, the might and role of the driving force of the nation will grow stronger and the cause of independent reunification will advance.

The honorary chairman of the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy said differing political views, religions and ideologies will pose no problem in protecting the independence and right to existence of the nation and there is no reason to deny the north's proposal for the joint conference.

He called for preventing war and achieving independent reunification by making pro-active efforts for successfully holding the joint conference in the spirit of national independence and great national unity.

The head of the group for implementing the June 15 joint declaration called upon all Koreans to unite as one and struggle in order to put an end to war on the Korean peninsula, achieve durable peace, replace the Armistice Agreement by a peace treaty and hold the joint conference, expressing the will to take the lead in the struggle.

A resolution was read out.

It said that it is the duty and righteous cause of all Koreans to successfully hold the joint conference which would be of epochal significance in the history of the reunification movement of the nation.

Nobody brings national reunification and all Koreans should be vanguard of reunification to bring about a new phase for independent reunification, it said.
