Rodong Sinmun Demands Japan Pay for Its Thrice-cursed Crimes
Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- Whoever is Korean can never forget the monstrous crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists against the Korean people in the past, inflicting incurable wounds upon them, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in an article.

Citing criminal acts committed by the Japanese imperialists against the Korean nation in the past, the article notes:

Social development of Korea was seriously retarded under the colonial rule by the Japanese imperialists. Consequently, Korea had long remained a colonial semi-feudal state.

But for the Japanese imperialists' occupation of Korea, there would not have been a tragic territorial division which the Koreans have suffered till now.

It is a legal, moral and international obligation for Japan to honestly apologize for the grisly crimes committed by it against the Korean nation and properly redeem them. But Japan has not shown any sincere attitude till now, denying them. To make matters worse, it has whetted the sword for reinvasion overtly and covertly to seek revenge for the defeat it suffered in the past.

What the Japanese authorities have done in recent years, in particular, has gone beyond the tolerance limit. Their reckless acts are touching off bitterer hatred among the Koreans for Japan, the sworn enemy.

If Japan stages a comeback to Korea, the army and people of the DPRK will never miss the opportunity.

It is the unshakable will of the DPRK to force the Japanese imperialists to pay for the thrice-cursed crimes committed by them against the Korean nation down through generations.

The Japanese reactionaries had better face up to the reality and think twice over their reckless moves.
