Folk Dance "Tondollari"
Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- The Korean people have created a number of folk dances like peasant dance and dance with fans from long ago.

One of them is "Tondollari" which has been popular in the east coastal area. Visitors to the area can see local people enjoy the dance on holidays.

It resembles folk dances of Koguryo Kingdom (B.C. 277-A.D. 668) in rhythmic movements characterized by passionate swinging of arms and harmonious striding.

The word "Tondollari" is inflected from "the dawn will break".

The folk dance "Tondollari" was recreated by the National Folk Art Troupe and other art troupes of the DPRK to infuse national emotion and optimism into the Korean people.
