S. Korean Organization Slams Authorities' Moves to Deploy THAAD

| Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- The Ansan Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration held a press conference on Aug. 15, the 71st anniversary of Korea's liberation to denounced the puppet authorities' moves to deploy THAAD, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Tongil News. The organization in a statement said that the THAAD deployment in south Korea is aimed to strengthen the military alliance among south Korea, the U.S. and Japan. The south and the north should sit face to face to take the road of national reconciliation and cooperation, not confrontation in order to ensure peace in Northeast Asia and on the Korean peninsula, it stressed. It urged the regime to drop the decision on the THAAD deployment and opt for the south-north dialogue. |
