Referring to the hunger-strike by Yu Kyong Gun, executive chairman of the Consultative Council of Families of Victims of April 16 Ferry Sewol Disaster and bereaved family member, at Kwanghwamun plaza of Seoul from August 17, the editorial went on:

Hunger-strike being staged by Yu with the will to fight to the death shows gloomy politics and deplorable human rights situation.

The political camp is untrustworthy as it is irresponsible for the promise made with the people.

And the editorial held that the opposition parties are also to blame for Yu’s hunger-strike, adding that if the opposition parties do not resolutely opt for probing the truth behind the ferry Sewol disaster, the people will punish the whole political camp.
