Maung Maung Naying, director general of the Myit Tar Moe Publishing House of Myanmar, said this in a statement on Aug. 17.

He noted that Kim Jong Il made the first inspection for his Songun revolutionary leadership on Aug. 25, 1960 and covered the long journey for Songun till the last period of his life, true to the intention of President Kim Il Sung, the founder of socialist Korea.

He said Kim Jong Il brought up the Korean People's Army to be an invincible army and cemented the military muscle in every way, providing a firm military guarantee for the victory of the socialist cause.

He noted that the DPRK has turned into an impregnable fortress and achieved shining successes in the building of a powerful socialist country under Kim Jong Il's wise leadership.

The Songun cause of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il is being invariably carried forward by HE Kim Jong Un, he added.
