The chairman of the association said HE Kim Jong Un in his report said that during the period under review the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) won a proud victory in defense of socialism and construction, taking hold on the banner of the Juche idea and the Songun revolutionary line despite the grim storms of history, and successfully carried forward the cause of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

The chairman noted:

The WPK has firmly consolidated the driving force of the socialist cause by modeling the whole party and the entire army on the Juche idea under the programme on modeling the whole society on the Juche idea set forth by the Sixth Congress of the WPK and made great progress in attaining the ten long-term objectives for socialist economic construction.

It has also cemented the politico-ideological position and given full play to the advantages of Korean socialism despite the anti-socialist, counter-revolutionary offensive and thus dynamically advanced the socialist cause.

The WPK led the socialist cause to victory with the Songun politics under the wise guidance of the great Comrade Kim Jong Il.

The vice-chairman of the association said that the WPK has applied the theory of giving importance to ideology, the revolutionary philosophy of single-minded unity and independent political line and turned the DPRK into a politically and ideologically strong and dignified socialist power.
