The statement said:

On Aug. 18, 1976, the U.S. imperialists committed a grave military provocation against the DPRK in the joint security area of Panmunjom.

Such military provocation which was recorded in history as the Panmunjom incident led the situation on the Korean peninsula to the brink of a war.

The spokesman for the Panmunjom Mission of the KPA clarified in a statement that an officer of the U.S. imperialist aggression army who was commanding the provocation operation had his neck hit by an axe which had been thrown to KPA soldiers.

The U.S. is inviting ruin as it is persistently resorting to the moves for a war against the DPRK, far from drawing a lesson from the incident.

The U.S. imperialists should not forget that the U.S. would be the first to be reduced to ashes by a preemptive nuclear strike to be mounted by the KPA if they ignite a nuclear war against the DPRK.

If they ignite the second Korean War, they are bound to meet miserable ruin. The U.S. ruin is the law that governs the development of history.
