The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in Chongjin City before paying tribute to them.

The meeting was attended by the captain and crewmen of the Jamaica-flagged ship New Global.

The speakers said the Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il was a great political mode that helped not only protect the destiny of a country and a nation but also successfully build a new independent world and peaceful world.

Kim Jong Il is boundlessly revered by the Korean people and other world progressives as a peerlessly elder statesman, genius of creation and construction, lodestar of national reunification and outstanding leader of the cause of human independence for the distinguished exploits he performed on the road of his Songun revolutionary leadership, they noted.

They expressed belief that the Korean people would open up a new phase of national reunification under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un who is successfully carrying forward the great idea and noble intention of the preceding leaders.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
