Going round the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, the Chongjin Steel Plant, the Puryong Ferroalloy Factory and the Musan Mining Complex, he learned in detail about production and capacity expansion projects.

He held consultative meetings of officials concerned there.

The meetings underscored the importance of duties assumed by the metal industrial field in implementing the strategic line of building an economic power set forth by the Party, and discussed issues of further expanding the achievements made by factories and enterprises in the field in putting production processes on a Juche and modern basis.

Measures were taken to increase the production of iron and steel on the basis of modern science and technology, keep equipment for mining and conveying ores in full operation and providing quality electricity nonstop.

The premier also toured Hoeryong City, the Ranam Coal-mining Machine Complex and the Kyongsong Insulator Factory.
