The members of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade took the lead in meeting the above-said requirements of the times and the revolution in the course of waging an indomitable struggle despite rigorous difficulties and trials after rushing to the construction site of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station in hearty response to the call of the Party.

Marshal Kim Jong Un named this unshakable mental spirit displayed by the Paektusan youth the "spirit of Paektusan hero youth" and made sure that it is called the revolutionary spirit representing the present times.

The main reason why the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) is projecting the spirit as the spirit of the present times is that it serves as the most revolutionary and militant idea and spirit representing the present times and, at the same time, the fighting spirit created by young people, a vanguard unit and a main unit of the revolution.

Thanks to the great Songun leadership and Songun politics of the WPK, the DPRK has built tremendous national power with the strongest military muscle in the world as the core and laid a solid foundation for building an economic giant capable of making a leap forward to surpass the world's level.

Now that the political and military strength has been fully provided to defend the country and build a powerful socialist nation, the issue of the destiny of our revolution at present mainly depends on how the young people, the successors to the revolution, are prepared and how they play their role.

Only when the young people, the reserves of the Party, the main force of the army and pillars taking the destiny of the country and the nation on their shoulders, are strong, can the Party, the army and the country be strong.

The more rapidly the young people playing a vanguard and core role which no other force can perform in their place advance, the faster the country can change in its appearance and the earlier its rosy future will come. This is the reality.
