In the capital city of Pyongyang, the construction of Ryomyong Street and other large-scale projects are in full swing to renew the city.

In Ryanggang Province, a project has been pushed forward to turn Samjiyon County into a model county of the country and a civilized alpine town.

According to Cha Tong Chol, department director of the South Hamgyong Provincial People's Committee, the province has directed big efforts to the project for renewing Hamhung City. The project includes the construction of apartment houses for scientists, orphans' primary and secondary schools, catfish farm and sci-tech library.

In Sinuiju City, North Phyongan Province, a work is making headway to build a sanatorium for war veterans and a schoolchildren's palace.

Such projects for renewing cities are also progressing apace in North Hwanghae, North Hamgyong and South Phyongan provinces.
