Members of the Songju Committee for Checking THAAD Deployment went to the venues of candlelight rallies and informed their participants of the protest actions being staged by residents of Songju County nonstop for more than 40 days despite sweltering weather and called for strenuous actions against THAAD deployment.

The Action for Checking THAAD Deployment held a candlelight rally in Kwanghwamun, Seoul. The organization said the ongoing action showed that voices of residents in Songju County and Kimchon City against THAAD deployment are spreading across south Korea.

In an appeal the organization denounced the Park Geun Hye regime for trying to divide the people and deploy THAAD at any cost while talking about the "third site". It demanded the regime cancel the decision on THAAD deployment.

Meanwhile, the 45th candlelight rally took place outside the Songju County Office of North Kyongsang Province with more than 1 000 residents attending.
