Noting that he was satisfied with the successful work done by the congress, Kim Jong Un warmly congratulated the youth delegates to the congress.

He extended warm thanks and militant salute to all the young people across the country who have performed their honorable mission and duty as young vanguard of the Party while working miracles and performing feats at the posts for defending the country and worksites for building a socialist power.

He also extended warm compatriotic greetings to the Korean youth and students overseas including those in Japan and south Korea struggling for the independent reunification of the country and prosperity of the nation.

The 9th Congress of the youth league marks an epochal occasion in defending and glorifying forever the idea of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on the youth movement and their exploits and developing the youth league into invincible vanguard ranks as required by the new era, he stressed.

The congress adopted a decision on renaming the youth league the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League, he said, adding this marks a great event that laid a solid foundation for developing the youth league into that of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il forever and serves as the highest glory and greatest happiness for the youth league organizations and youth.

The congress is the one of loyalty which demonstrated the faith and will of young vanguard to carry forward and accomplish the cause of the Juche revolution under the guidance of the Party by inheriting the glorious history and tradition of struggle of the youth league, one of general advance which fully aroused the youth to the building of a socialist power and a historic one that laid a new milestone for the triumphant advance of the Juche-based youth movement and development of the youth league.

The seven decades-long history of the youth league is a brilliant one of victory of the great leaders' original idea of prioritizing the youth and their wise leadership and the one of ardent loyalty and patriotic devotion of the Korean youth to the Party, leader, country and its people.

He referred to the immortal feats performed by the great leaders for the youth movement.

The proud annals in which the Juche-based youth movement made a triumphant advance are associated with precious blood and sweat and heroic feats of the young people who fought for the Party, leader, country and its people at the risk of their lives, he said.

He indicated the tasks facing the youth league.

The youth league should model the whole league on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism in order to successfully perform the sacred mission and duty it assumed before the times and revolution.

This is the matured requirement of the Korean revolution that reached a new high stage and the development of the youth movement and a militant banner to be held high by the youth league in the drive for accomplishing the cause of the Juche revolution.

Youth league organizations and youth should become vanguard and shock brigade in building a socialist power.

"Let us fully display wisdom and courage of heroic youth in general charge for building socialist power!"--this is a militant slogan to be held high by the youth league and youth in the present times.

Young people should become death-defying corps in defending the socialist country, true to the Songun revolutionary leadership of the Party.

They should bring about fresh miracles and innovations in all worksites for building a socialist power in bold attacking spirit and with the mettle of youth under the uplifted banner of self-development first principle.

They should become pace-setters and pioneers in building a scientific and technological power.

They should become creators of socialist civilization and vanguard in building a highly civilized nation.

They should wage a positive struggle for achieving the independent reunification of the country and realizing global independence.

The youth league should boost the anti-imperialist solidarity, friendship and unity with the world progressive youth and make positive contribution to the development of the world youth movement by adhering to the Party's idea and principle of foreign policy.

Kim Jong Un underscored the need for the youth league to strengthen its organizations and increase their militant function and role in every way in order to usher in the greatest heyday of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist youth movement.

Bright is the prospect of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League and the youth dashing ahead along the orbit of the Korean revolution indicated by the Party Central Committee and immensely rosy is the future of the Korean youth movement, he noted, calling for waging a dynamic struggle for the accomplishment of the socialist cause of Juche, the modeling of the youth league on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and bright future of the youth power.
