Day of Songun Observed by Lao, Pakistani Newspapers
Pyongyang, August 30 (KCNA) -- Lao and Pakistani newspapers carried special write-ups on the 56th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership (the Day of Songun).

The Lao newspaper Congtap Pasason Lao on Aug. 25 carried an article titled "DPRK shines by Songun" illustrated with a portrait of smiling Kim Jong Il.

The article said he began the Songun leadership by inspecting the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division of the Korean People's Army on Aug. 25, 1960. It went on:

If a nation is weak, though it aspires after independence and justice, it will fall victim to invasion and injustice. Kim Jong Il kept such lesson of history and took over President Kim Il Sung's ideology of prioritizing the military affairs to give definite precedence to military affairs above all during the whole course of leading the revolution.

Thanks to his Songun leadership that lasted several decades, the military capacity of the DPRK has remarkably grown stronger.

His Songun leadership brought about world-startling changes in all fields including national economy.

The Pakistani newspaper Election Times carried an article titled "Brilliant commander of Songun and socialist Korea" on Aug. 23.

It said in detail that Marshal Kim Jong Un, with pluck and grit as a brilliant commander, resolutely foiled the reckless moves of the U.S. and its vassal forces intensifying pressure on the DPRK as never before to stifle it and infringe upon its sovereignty and dignity.
