Actions against S. Korean Authorities' Blocking of Probe into Truth about Ferry Sewol Disaster Unabated
Pyongyang, August 30 (KCNA) -- Actions are unabated in south Korea against the puppet authorities' blocking of the probe into the truth about the ferry Sewol disaster, according to Yonhap News and News 1 of south Korea.

As regards the plan of the Ad Hoc Committee for Probing the Truth behind the Ferry Sewol Disaster to hold the third hearing on the disaster early in next month, the puppet Ministry of Maritime Transport and Fisheries insisted that it could not respond to the hearing as the term of the activities of the committee expired on June 30 according to the special law on the ferry Sewol.

The committee and family members of the victims of the ferry Sewol disaster are staging an indefinite hunger strike at the Kwanghwamun plaza of Seoul in protest against this.

On August 24 the April 16 Family Council held a press conference at the plaza at which it blasted the ministry for forcing the committee to end its activities and blocking the hearing.

Lawmakers of the Minju Party held a press conference outside Chongwadae on August 25 and published a declaration.

The declaration said that the committee could not conduct the investigation properly due to the organized obstructions of the "government" and is now in the danger of forcible dissolution.

At the end of the press conference, the lawmakers marched as far as the Kwanghwamun plaza.

Next day, members of the former "human rights committee" held a press conference at the plaza and issued a statement.
