The director recalled that President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il extended unreserved support and solidarity to the struggle for the national liberation of Uganda and its building of a new society, adding that it is the noble intention of Marshal Kim Jong Un to boost the friendly and cooperative relations with African countries.

The army and people of the DPRK are bringing about miracles and innovations every day in the struggle for building a socialist power while frustrating the vicious moves of all hostile forces to stifle the DPRK under the wise and seasoned leadership of Kim Jong Un, he noted, underscoring the need to develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries on a higher stage.

The second deputy prime minister said the relations between the two countries are special relations with a long history and tradition, adding that it is the fixed stand of President Museveni and the government and people of Uganda to develop the friendly and cooperative relations with the DPRK.

Noting that the bilateral relations have a strong foundation and the hostile forces can never block the development of these ties, he expressed the will to boost the bilateral friendly and cooperative ties.

Meanwhile, there took place talks between the department director of the DPRK Foreign Ministry and the director of the Regional Cooperation Department of the Ugandan Foreign Ministry who doubles as acting permanent secretary.

There was an in-depth exchange of views on boosting the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries at the talks.

Through the visit the two countries reconfirmed the common will to invariably consolidate the bilateral friendly and cooperative relations with a long history and tradition and boost them in various fields.
