The internet newspaper Zebri Deve of Khabarovsk Territory posted an article titled "By dint of Songun" on August 22, illustrated with a photo of Kim Jong Il.

The article said that the DPRK has firmly defended its sovereignty and dignity in the standoff with the U.S. styling itself the "only superpower" in the world for more than a half century since Kim Jong Il provided his first field guidance for his Songun revolutionary leadership to the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division of the Korean People's Army.

The internet homepage Klasobaya Boriva posted an article titled "Day of Songun Marked in DPRK" on August 25, accompanied by his photo.

It noted that in the days of his Songun leadership he trained the Korean People's Army into an invincible army and consolidated the military capability of the country in every way with the KPA as a core, providing a firm military guarantee for the victory of the socialist cause.

The internet news Primorski Reporzor praised his Songun leadership exploits on August 26.
