Brisk Work for Improving Educational Conditions in DPRK
Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- A brisk work has been conducted in the DPRK to renew the educational conditions and environment.

The construction of buildings Nos. 3 and 4 at Kim Il Sung University is now progressing apace while a swimming pool is being built in real earnest at Kim Hyong Jik University of Education.

A modern library appeared at Chongjin University of Mining and Metallurgy.

Efforts were paid to turning Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry and other major universities into a center of education and scientific research and a base for international academic exchange.

Pyongyang Orphans' Secondary School was developed into a model of the secondary education. And such work was launched in each province to renew the educational institutions and their environment.

In the country's general secondary education field, at least 3,200 classrooms have been newly arranged at 500-odd schools and 13,400 laboratory and practical training rooms renewed to meet the demands of the new century until now from February of the year.

Many schools were improved on a modern basis and new schools took their shapes one after another in local areas.

Supreme leader Kim Jong Un in his report to the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea said that the material and technical foundations of the education sector should be raised to the world level through a radical overhaul of the educational conditions and environment.
