On-site Medical Service Activities Brisk

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- On-site medical service activities are brisk in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. In particular, medical workers from the Pyongyang Medical College Hospital of Kim Il Sung University have carried on their service in Taehongdan County, Ryanggang Province for 10 years. In this regard, Kim Sun Nam, head of a department of the Taehongdan County People's Committee, told KCNA: Leader Kim Jong Il in his lifetime had cared so much for the health of discharged soldiers, who volunteered to work in Taehongdan County, and their families. True to his intention, the hospital formed an on-site medical service squad to work in the county. Thanks to the squad's devoted efforts, a youth of a construction company could recover his health from burns and a 15-year-old girl could recover from a walking disorder. Han Chun Song, vice-director of the Pyongyang Medical College Hospital, said: On the basis of the achievements and experience gained in the past, the hospital has intensified its on-site medical service in the county this year, too. It provided the on-site medical squad with scores of kinds of medicines and some 1 800 pieces of medical appliances of over 20 kinds, including abdominal supersonic equipment. The squad has made medical checkup and treatment services day and night, paying special care to disabled soldiers and serious cases. Meanwhile, it organized tens of rounds of training courses to raise surgical skills of the local doctors. |
