The great President Kim Il Sung founded the DPRK representing the interests of all the Korean people on September 9, 1948, an event of national significance which brought about a fundamental turn in hewing out the destiny of the country and its people.

The history of the DPRK that has lasted nearly seven decades is the glorious history in which it has been strengthened into the dignified and prosperous powerful state under the outstanding and tested leadership of the peerlessly great persons.

President Kim Il Sung and HE Kim Jong Il turned the DPRK into the country independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence with their iron will and distinguished leadership, setting a brilliant example in building a socialist power.

The undying feats the great leaders performed for the founding and strengthening of the DPRK are now being successfully carried forward by HE Kim Jong Un, the supreme leader of the Korean people.
