The participants laid a floral basket and bunches of flowers before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in Chongjin City and paid tribute to them.

Present there were the captain and crewmen of Jamaica-flagged ship New Global.

The speakers said that the President's founding of the DPRK was a historic event which proclaimed to the world the birth of a sovereign state guided by the Juche idea.

Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il will be immortal in the hearts of not only the Korean people but also the progressives thanks to the immortal feats they performed for the founding and development of the DPRK, they noted.

They expressed belief that the army and people of the DPRK advancing with confidence under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un would resolutely smash the U.S. imperialists' and hostile forces' vicious moves to stifle and isolate the DPRK and achieve a final victory in the struggle to build a powerful socialist country and reunify the country.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
