Present there were delegations and delegates of the organizations for the study of the Juche idea from different countries and regions including Harish Gupta, vice-director general of the IIJI.

On hand were Kim Ki Nam, vice-chairman of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Thae Hyong Chol, president of Kim Il Sung University and minister of Higher Education, who is also chairman of the Korean Social Scientists Association, and officials concerned.

Takao Kamakura, director of the IIJI, made an opening address to be followed by a congratulatory speech of Thae Hyong Chol.

They expressed belief that the seminar would mark a historic meeting for exchanging achievements and experience gained in studying and disseminating the Juche idea and grasping theoretical and practical issues arising in the struggle for independence against imperialism.

Harish Gupta made a report.

He said that the seminar is of weighty significance as it was opened at the time when humankind's desire for independence is growing stronger as the days go by.

He underscored the need for the Juche idea study organizations to conduct more brisk activities for studying and disseminating Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism that has powerfully encouraged the cause of independence among broad masses by dint of unprecedented attraction and steadily expand the ranks of the Juche idea followers.

Noting that the just cause advancing under the banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism will win a sure victory, he ardently called for getting firmly united under the uplifted banner of anti-imperialist struggle and making dynamic efforts to build a free and peaceful, new world free from aggression and war.

The speakers explained the issues arising in achieving global independence through solidarity and alliance under the banner of anti-imperialist independence, guided by the immortal Juche idea.

A letter to Marshal Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar.
