Course of Glory Covered by DPRK under Guidance of Great Persons
Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- Sixty-eight years has passed since the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was founded.

The birth of the DPRK was a significant event heralding that Korea emerged the country of Juche and the Koreans became an independent nation as a genuine master of the state and society.

Over the past 68 years, the DPRK has made a history of victory and glory under the guidance of the peerlessly great persons.

Guided by President Kim Il Sung, it defeated the U.S. imperialists, who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world, in the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953), thus defending the nation's freedom and independence and the gains of the revolution.

The DPRK successfully carried out the postwar reconstruction on the debris and then the socialist revolution and construction and thus turned into a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in defence.

In the mid-1990s when the DPRK was under the worst difficulties, leader Kim Jong Il raised the banner of the Songun (military-first) politics to deter the hostile forces' military moves against it and defend the country and the nation's sovereignty and socialism.

Thanks to his Songun leadership, the DPRK could have a strong military muscle with self-reliant defense industry and rise to be a nuclear weapons state. And its people could turn out Juche-based iron, vinalon and fertilizer and secure the mastery of CNC technology, working world-startling miracles in various fields and building a lot of monumental edifices.

Today the strength of the DPRK is considerably increasing and its people's ideals are translated into a reality under the guidance of supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

As he protects the people's happiness and well-being and the dignity of the country with the Songun policy, an all-powerful treasured sword, the DPRK will prosper for good as Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's Korea.
