Joint Protest of Inhabitants of Songju, Kimchon of S. Korea against THAAD Deployment

Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) -- Inhabitants in Songju County and Kimchon City of North Kyongsang Province of south Korea held a joint rally in Seoul on September 8 in protest against the U.S. moves to deploy THAAD, according to the south Korean internet paper Voice of People.

In the middle of the rally the participants headed for the U.S. Embassy to convey a written protest against THAAD deployment to it.

Representatives of inhabitants thrust a written protest to the U.S. Embassy despite police's suppression.

At the end of the rally the participants visited the bereaved families who were staging a strike in demand of the probe into the truth about ferry Sewol disaster at the Kwanghwamun plaza, and encouraged them.

Prior to it, inhabitants met with the representative of the Minju Party and noted that the on-going action is the issue on which hinges the right to existence. They said they would turn out in the drive for a total cancellation and reexamination of the plan for deploying THAAD.
