DPRK University Students Strive for Another World Contest

Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) -- Students of Kim Il Sung University in the DPRK are now intent on the preparations for another international college programming contest. They won a trophy, two gold prizes and two speed prizes in the Asian regional preliminaries of the 40th ICPC (International College Programming Contest) last year and placed the second at the 40th ICPC in May this year. According to Jong Kwang Byol, an instructor of the university's group of information science, the university is to host the Asian regional preliminaries for the 41st ICPC in November. He said that their immediate goal is to win a gold medal at the forthcoming regional preliminaries and the ultimate goal is to hold supremacy in IT field, adding that most of students and instructors of the group are youths in their twenties. |
