Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- The Cuban paper Granma on September 9 carried special write-up titled "Uninterrupted advance toward building socialist power" on the 68th founding anniversary of the DPRK. It carried photos of the Korean people visiting the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and paying high tribute to them. It said that Kim Il Sung powerfully aroused the entire nation to the sacred war for liberating the country, putting an end to the colonial rule by the Japanese imperialists, and founded the DPRK on September 9, 1948 and wisely led it along the path of socialism. It noted that the DPRK is socialism centered on the popular masses guided by the Juche idea and it has demonstrated its might before the world as a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in defense and a country of single-minded unity under the outstanding guidance of the great leaders. It pointed out that under the unstable situation on the Korean peninsula, the DPRK is bolstering self-defensive force in quality and quantity, firmly building the tremendous military muscle capable of coping with the enemy. In other words, it is further building up the army and developing the nuclear attack capability. |
