The championships took place in Italy from Sep. 7 to 11. DPRK players participated in the World Juvenile Taekwon-Do Championships which brought together 370 players from 40 countries and regions including Argentina, Australia, and Belarus.

They won in the boys and girls individual sparring matches, girls team sparring matches, boys and girls team pattern competitions and individual pattern competitions, boys and girls self-defense matches and girls individual special technique competition.

Ri Du Song placed first in boys 51 kg individual sparring match in the age category of 16-17 and Sin Guk Hui, Won Ok, Han Ryong Hwa, Kim Yu Sim and Pak Sol Hyang in girls 64 kg, 58 kg, 52 kg, 46 kg and 40 kg individual sparring matches in the age category of 16-17.

Ro Guk Hwa and Kim Jin A came first in girls 52 kg and 46 kg individual sparring matches in the age category of 14-15.

Sin Hyon Il came first in boys individual pattern competition of 2nd degree, Kim Jin A and Won Ok in girls individual pattern competitions of 1st and 3rd degrees and Pak Ji Hyang in girls individual special technique competition.

The DPRK players finished second in girls team special technique competitions.

Sin Hyon Il bagged silver medal in boys 57 kg individual sparring match in the age category of 16-17, Jong Rim and Won Hye Song silver medals in 70 kg and above individual sparring matches in the age category of 16-17 and Pak Ji Hyang and Sin Guk Hwa in girls 40 kg and 58 kg individual sparring matches in the age category of 14-15.

Choe Ryong Bom came second in boys individual pattern competition of 1st degree and Sin Guk Hui in girls individual pattern competition of 2nd degree.

Tokgo Chol Bom won a bronze medal in boys 69 kg individual sparring match in the age category of 16-17 and Pae Jin Sok also bagged a bronze in boys individual pattern competition of 3rd degree.

They returned home on Thursday.
