Devotion to People Is WPK's Mode of Existence
Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- The Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) recently decided to halt major national projects such as the construction of Ryomyong Street and direct the spearhead of the ongoing 200-day campaign to the recovery efforts in the flood-hit northern part of the country.

It is the priority work and basic duty of the WPK, the party of the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, to take warm care of the people's living in a responsible manner.

In their lifetime Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il had led the Party to serve only for the sake of the popular masses, always attaching top priority to their interests and wellbeing.

In 1970 when he was told that the construction of a new street was to start in the capital city of Pyongyang in cold January, Kim Il Sung gave an instruction that it should be delayed until April for the inhabitants' safe evacuation.

When visiting the Samsu Power Station under construction in March 2006, Kim Jong Il advised the officials concerned to give top priority to the evacuees' livelihood, saying that nothing is more important for the WPK than to protect the interests of the people. In March 2009 when inspecting the Huichon Power Station under construction, he stressed the importance to build new houses for the inhabitants around it before anything else.

Last year, the flood-stricken area of Rason City turned into a fairyland of socialism thanks to the energetic guidance of supreme leader Kim Jong Un who regards it as the WPK's mode of existence to make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.

Under his guidance, the army and people of the DPRK will turn the northern part of the country, recently hit hard by unprecedented, strong wind and downpours, into a people's paradise at an early date.
