A statement of the Nuclear Weapons Institute of the DPRK was read out at the meeting to be followed by speeches.

The speakers praised the test as a special event guaranteeing the eternal prosperity and security of Juche Korea as a full-fledged nuclear weapons state and protecting the justice and peace of the world and a demonstration of the tremendous national power of Songun Korea.

They said the test was the just self-defensive measure to thoroughly protect the sovereignty of the country and the vital rights of the nation from the U.S.-led hostile forces' ever-increasing nuclear threat and blackmail and reliably guarantee the peace on the Korean peninsula and security in the region.

They noted that the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces should stop acting rashly, clearly understanding that if they continue resorting to the hostile policy toward the DPRK, while denying the strategic position of the DPRK which ranked itself among the nuclear powers, they will face the most miserable fate.
