Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Researchers at the State Academy of Sciences in the DPRK have made sci-tech achievements conducive to propelling the recovery efforts in the flood-hit northern part of the country, in hearty response to the call of the Workers' Party of Korea. Those of the Silicate Engineering Institute helped establish at the Sunchon Cement Complex a heat-resisting cement production process based on domestic raw materials and technology to raise the production of cement badly needed for the recovery efforts. Being active at the February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine, researchers of the Coal Branch Academy developed the coal dressing technology on a higher level. And other researchers settled various technological problems arising in updating the belt-conveyor at coal mines. Besides, those of the Control Machine Institute, the Institute of Automation and the Natural Energy Institute under the State Academy of Sciences helped put production processes on a modern and IT basis at many industrial establishments to considerably increase the output of equipment and materials necessary for flood damage rehabilitation. |
