Schooling Continues in Flood-stricken Areas of DPRK
Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- The unprecented storm and downpour severely hit North Hamgyong Province in northern part of the DPRK, destroying tens of thousands of houses, schools and hospitals and other public buildings.

However, schooling continues in the flood-hit areas thanks to the devoted efforts of the party and government organs.

After the flood damage, immediate steps were taken to turn less damaged buildings into temporary schools and provide school things and facilities. And a day-and-night campaign was launched to restore the damaged schools as soon as possible.

Those of the ministries and national institutions acquainted themselves with the flood-hit schools and took measures to send educational equipment and materials.

Meanwhile, health workers in the flood-hit areas are conducting on-site medical service in cooperation with competent medical teams from Pyongyang. Many medicines were supplied to the disaster areas and a brisk preventive and curative medical care was launched.
