When interviewed by the KCNA, Ri Ung, director of the North Hamgyong Provincial People's Committee, said:

A new history of army-people unity is made in the country's northern part along the Tuman River, where the tradition of army-people assistance was created during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

When they arrived here to launch recovery efforts, servicepersons set about ground-breaking for the construction of inhabitants' new houses before making their barracks.

They also offered a large amount of their rations to inhabitants in the disaster areas, giving strength and courage to us, civilians.

Kim Chun Nam, an officer of the Korean People's Army, said:

We, servicepersons, were moved to see the displaced inhabitants in Hoeryong City offering bedclothes they received as relief materials.

With Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un's warm love for the people, we will surely win a miraculous victory in the struggle to recover from flood damage, displaying the might of army-people unity.
