DPRK FM Delegation Visits Vietnam
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- A delegation of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK led by Choe Hui Chol, director general of the Asian and Oceanian Department, paid an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from September 22 to 25.

The delegation paid a courtesy call on Le Hoai Trung, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, and met with Pham Sao Mai, director general of the Northeast Asian Department, and officials of the Department for International Bodies and the ASEAN Department to exchange opinions.

The DPRK side said that it is the consistent stand of the DPRK to steadily develop the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries forged by the great leader of the Korean people President Kim Il Sung and the respected President of the Vietnamese people Ho Chi Minh.

It informed the Vietnamese side of the grave situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula due to the reckless nuclear war moves of the U.S. and other hostile forces, expressing the will to invariably hold fast to the state line of nuclear weaponization and bolstering up nukes at a high level, the line chosen to defend its sovereignty and right to existence.

The Vietnamese side expressed the will to develop the friendly and cooperative relations with the DPRK despite the changing situation and boost the bilateral cooperation in the ASEAN, UN and regional and international arenas, manifesting the understanding of the efforts of the DPRK side to protect peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

Both sides discussed issues concerning bilateral relations and regional and international issues of mutual concern in a candid and sincere atmosphere and reached a consensus of views on them.
