Production of Building Materials Rapidly Increases in DPRK

Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- Factories under the Ministry of Construction and Building-Materials in the DPRK have recently increased the production of cement, sheet glass and other building materials as much as possible to help the recovery efforts in the flood-hit northern areas of North Hamgyong Province.

According to data available at the ministry, the outputs of cement and sheet glass went up 1.5 and 1.1 times respectively in recent days as against the figures in the same period of last year.

The Sunchon Cement Complex supplied tens of thousands of tons of cement to the disaster areas while conducting a vigorous drive for increased production.

The Chonnaeri Cement Factory has already carried out its cement production assignment over 50 percent.

The workers at the Taean Friendship Glass Factory have produced tens of thousands of square meters of sheet glass for the flood-hit areas until now.
