The Puraesan Cement Factory in the province sent several hundred tons of cement to the disaster areas by launching a vigorous drive for increased production, while the Hamhung Steel Works showed higher results in the bar steel production every day.

This month, several power stations in the province has generated electricity 1.3 times higher than August.

Meanwhile, light industrial establishments in the province have turned out more underwear and other goods by keeping their equipment at full-capacity operation.

South Hamgyong Province has already provided the disaster areas with a great deal of grains and foodstuff and more than 40,000 pieces of daily necessaries and building materials.
