Korean Residents in Ibaragi, Japan Call for Subsidizing Korean Schools
Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- Korean residents of Ibaragi, Japan launched a signature campaign on Sept. 16 calling for subsidizing the Korean Primary, Secondary and High School in Ibaragi under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan.

On Mar. 29 the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan in a notice addressed to the local governors urged them to examine the issue of subsidizing the Korean schools, posing a sort of threat to them.

Accordingly the governor of Ibaragi Prefecture at a press interview said on April 8 that it is difficult to give a subsidy to the Korean school in Ibaragi.

In protest against the sinister moves of the Japanese reactionaries, the Korean Primary, Secondary and High School in Ibaragi, the "society of defending human rights of children of Korean schools", "Let's go together! Ibaragi", the Prefectural Citizens Council for Defending Peace and the society of mothers of the Korean primary, secondary and high schools in Ibaragi staged a joint signature campaign.

The students and their parents joined in the campaign.

The participants expressed the will to fight to the last to defend the Korean schools and ensure the rights of the Korean students to learn.

On the same day, similar campaigns took place in Ehime Prefecture and Matsuyama City.
