There were briefing and photo show on tourism in the DPRK.

Present at the event were officials concerned and staff members of foreign embassies and missions of international bodies here.

Jo Song Gol, general director of the State General Bureau of Tourism, said many world-level cultural tourist facilities are now springing up in different parts of the country under the plan of the Workers' Party of Korea for building a highly civilized socialist nation. Every year the number of domestic and foreign tourists is increasing and tourist industry is making progress, he noted.

He expressed the will to briskly conduct tourism in the future, too, on the basis of a wealth of experience gained in the service provided by various organizations.

Taleb Rifai, secretary general of the World Tourism Organization, in his video speech to all countries on the World Day of Tourism called upon the governments and tourist companies to make tour for all a major theme of the tourist policy and business strategy so that all people including disabled persons and the old may enjoy beauty of the world.

The participants enjoyed introductory documentary "Korean Tourism" and looked round photos introducing great monumental structures and famous tourist destinations of Korea.
