Chongam-Haksong Railway Section Restored in DPRK
Pyongyang, September 29 (KCNA) -- The Chongam-Haksong railway section was reopened in the flood-stricken North Hamgyong Province, the DPRK on Sept. 27.

The railway service was interrupted by the stormy wind and heavy rain which swept the northern part of the country's North Hamgyong Province.

A campaign has been conducted by members of the shock brigade in charge of the Hyesan-Samjiyon railway construction and workers of the Chongjin Railway Bureau, Hoeryong and Kilju railway branch bureaus, the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex, Wonsan Rolling-Stock Complex and other affiliated units under the Ministry of Railways to rebuild the railway.

The reopening of Chongam-Haksong railway section, the longest section in the restoration project, makes it possible to rapidly increase the freight traffic for the recovery efforts.
