Printed on the upper part of the stamps are letters "70th Anniversary of Kim Il Sung University," "Juche 35 (1946)-Juche 105 (2016)".

Depicted in the center of the sheet is the statue of President Kim Il Sung on Ryongnam Hill who performed immortal feats by founding Kim Il Sung University, the first university for the people, in the liberated country, clearly indicating the way to be followed by the university in each period and at each stage of the developing revolution and led it in all aspects so that it may successfully fulfil its mission and duty.

The sheet depicting the statue of leader Kim Jong Il with E-library for a background deals with the efforts made by him to turn the university into the one of the leader and the highest seat of Juche-oriented science and education since he started his leadership over it.
