The symposium served as a profitable occasion in promoting the social progress of mankind based on science and technology and further strengthening the friendship, interchange and cooperation among universities of various countries.

Noting that a lot of significant sci-tech papers were presented to the symposium, Thae Hyong Chol, president of Kim Il Sung University and minister of Higher Education of the DPRK, told KCNA:

Through diverse contacts, we came to a conclusion that each other's academic ties and close cooperation in the field of science researches would help ensure the social progress of mankind based on science and technology.

Kim Il Sung University will as ever strengthen the academic exchange with scholars of various countries to make more significant contribution to the progress and development of the human society by dint of science and technology.

Alexandr Matsegora, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, said:

The 70-year-long history of Kim Il Sung University is a history of steady development, continuous improvement in education and expansion in the scope of scientific research.

The university has a long history of scientific cooperation and exchange of students and teachers with Russia's universities. We will do our best to preserve and expand the relationship among universities.

We hope that teachers and students of Kim Il Sung University will higher display their professionalism and steadily inherit the glorious tradition of the university.

Dr. Holmer Brochlos of Berlin Free University in Germany said, noting that he had training at Kim Il Sung University 40 years ago:

This is the third time for me to attend the symposium at the university, and I have witnessed its scholars working hard to put the DPRK on the ranks of advanced countries.

On the basis of the achievements and experience gained at the current symposium, I will strive to strengthen the friendly exchange and cooperation between my university and Kim Il Sung University.
